07/25/2006 Ajay Devgan and Kareena Kapoor love scene in Vishal Bharadwaj's Omkara is a much talked about topic. The film is scheduled for release this Friday July 28, 2006. The love scene, which occurs as a part of a montage for the song O sathi re, is about three-four minute long between Ajay and Kareena and has been shot very aesthetically by Bharadwaj. The movie, based on Shakespeare's Othello, the protagonist suffers from an inferiority complex due to the beauty of his lover and hence the director wanted someone who looked beautiful even without makeup, and found Kareena to fit the bill perfectly. Kareen plays Dolly, a Brahmin girl who leaves her family for Ajay, a half-Brahmin and the chieftain of outlaws. 05/10/2006 Vishal Bharadwaj’s an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello has finally been renamed to Omkara . Other names that were in the running where Saathi Re and Issak. The name Omkara was voted on by more then 25 lakh people from all over the world. The movies stars Vidya Balan , Bipasha Basu , Kareena Kapoor , Naseeruddin Shah, Ajay Devgan , Vivek Oberoi , and Konkana Sen Sharma. What's in a name as Shakespeare would say. Date: 04/18/2006 The new Vishal Bharadwaj direction of the Shakespeare masterpiece Othello , is considering a new name, Issak vs the current title of Omkara. The film, staring Ajay Devgan , Saif Ali Khan , Vivek Oberoi , was also announced to be premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May this year even thou the film is not even complete. The current plans are to release the film in August following the release of Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (KANK) . Saif Ali Khan recovering From An Appendicitis Surgery Date: 03/31/2006 Saif Ali Khan is recovering from an appendicitis surgery which he underwent on Thursday at Gleneagles Hospital in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Saif came to Malaysia with his Italian girlfriend Rosa. He had returned from Melbourne, where he performed Bhangra at the Commonwealth Games with Rani Mukherjee , compling about an acute stomach pain which was later diagnosed as appendicitis. The actor who has just finished shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj's Othello and his scheduled to next shot in June for Siddharth Anand.
