China To Showcase Aishwarya Rai films Date: 09/01/2006 Aishwarya Rai films Chokher Bali (Bengali) and Bollywood hit Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam will be showcased at the Indian film festival to be held in China Beijing from August 25 to 31 and then in Shanghai in the first week of September. The film festival has been organised by the Indian Embassy.
	Sushmita Sen To Star In Hollywood Film Opposite Richard Gere Date: 08/30/2006 Sushmita Sen has signed up to star in her second Hollywood film, this time opposite Richard Gere in the film title The Expat , being directed by Sutapa Ghosh and produced by Miramax Films. The movie will be shot in Argentina. Her first Hollywood film Karma Confessions and Holi is in the final stages of completion and should release soon.
Shahrukh Joins Jet Airways Board Committee Date: 08/30/2006 Shahrukh Khan (SRK) has joined as a board member of Jet Airways airlines. This will add some glamour to the airline, previously Yash Chopra and Javed Akhtar had been on the Jet Airways board.

Sania Mirza lost in the 2nd round of the US open against the 14th seed Italian Francesca Schiavone 5-7, 6-1, 6-2.

Sania Mirza easily advanced to the 2nd round at the US open being played in New York, USA. The 19-year-old from Hyderabad beat Croat Karolina Sprem 6-4, 6-2 and advanced to the 2nd round to face Italian 14th seed Francesca Schiavone.
