	Ram Gopal Varma Ki Sholay Date: 05/31/2006 Ram Gopal Verma has decided to shelve his forthcoming film Time Machine which stared Shahrukh Khan and instead decided to start work on the remake of Sholay . It was also announced that Himesh Reshammiya , currently the hottest music director turned singer, who will be providing the music for the movie will also be singing the famous Mehbooba Mehbooba for the film. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan as Gabbar Singh and Urmila Matondkar will dance to Mehbooba Mehbooba.
	Bipasha Basu shooting for Phir Hera Pheri Date: 05/25/2006 Bipasha Basu is currently shooting for her next release, Phir Hera Pheri Phir Hera Pheri. Her next assignment will be a Bangla movie with her favorite director Rituparno Ghosh, called Draupadi , which is scheduled for release in 2007. Also in the news is that John Abraham has reiterated that he would marry with no one else but Bipasha Basu .
	Aishwarya Rai At Cannes film festival confirmed that she was the victim of domestic violence Date: 05/24/2006 Aishwarya Rai is currently at the Cannes film festival to promote her film Provoked . This is were the sensuous Indian former Miss World confirmed that she was a victim of domestic violence which by considence is the subjet of her next movie, Provoked , directed by Jagmohan Mundhra. It is a known fact that Salman and Ash shared a strange relationship, and that Salman was extremely possessive of his then lady love Ash. The film is expected to be released September 2006. Aishwarya Rai also made a reference to a future biography on herself that she will write.
	Shilpa Shetty On Cover Of OK Magazine Date: 05/15/2006 Shilpa Shetty will on the cover of the first issue of Europe�s OK magazine launching its Indian version. The photos are being shot by Vikram Bawa and include indoor shoots with Shilpa posing on a couch, floor and even in a bathtub. Outdoor shots were taken in a park and by poolside, and one shot has Shilpa Shetty wearing fiery red dress and posing on a luggage trolley.
	Tsunami Forces Preity Zinta to Examine Priorities Date: 05/14/2006 Preity Zinta has been reexamining her lifestyle after she escaped the tsunami disaster in 2004. She was fast asleep in a beachside villa in Thailand when the killer waves struck in December 2004. She ran and survived but some of the friends she was with did not make it out. Preity Zinta was only in one film last year, but she again has picked up her pace and is currently shooting for three movies that will hit the screen over the next six months. She is also going to promote her next film Hindi movie Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (KANK) (Never Say Goodbye) at the Cannes film festival later this month.

	Dhoom 2 team in South Africa Date: 05/09/2006 Dhoom 2 crew and cast will be shotting part of the movie in South Africa. The Avlon Group of Cinemas is providing the facilities in South Africa and Qatar Airways will be sponsoring air travels from India to South Africa for the entire cast and production crew. The film includes breath-taking action sequences which include fast-paced action sequences, helicopter chases and more. The file stars Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan .
	Mallika Sherawat In Guru Date: 05/09/2006 Mallika Sherawat has agreed to shoot an item number for Mani's movie titled Guru . Mallika Sherawat has shot the item number in Turkey with Abhishek Bachchan . The movie is inspired from a corporate war between the two groups of Mumbai controlled by Dhirubhai Ambani of Reliance and Nusli Wadia of Bombay Dyeing. Abhishek Bachchan is stated to be playing the character of the Reliance's founder Late Dhirubhai Ambani. The movie also stars Aishwarya Rai opposite Abhishek Bachchan and Madhavan opposite Vidya Balan .
	36 China Town Suspense Priyanka Chopra? Date: 05/04/2006 We are not revealing the suspense of 36 China Town , but will let you know that Priyanka Chopra will be making a guest appearance in the movie. The beautiful actress, Priyanka Chopra got great reviews for portraying a negative character in Aitraaz, which was also directed by Abbas-Mustan and produced by Subhash Ghai and then again made a guest appearance in Milan Luthria�s Taxi Number 9211 (2006) . 36 China Town is due to release this week and stars Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor . The movie is a murder mystery(thriller) and hence the producers and director have decided to not hold any private screenings, not even for the film�s actors or distributors.
	Kajol To Make An Appearance in Karan Johar�s Forthcoming Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (KANK) Date: 05/03/2006 Rumors have it that Kajol will be making an appearance in Karan Johar�s forthcoming Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (KANK) , the plan is that Kajol will appear in a song along with Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan as well as the rest of cast which includes Preity Zinta , Rani Mukherjee and Shahrukh Khan . Currently Kajol is waiting for the release of her comeback movie Fanaah , which is scheduled to be release later this month which has already created some controversies. The latest in the news is that the two stars have parted there own aways after finding out that Aishwarya Rai 's astrological chart says she is from Mars (manglik), and the Bachchans reportedly do not want the �dark shadow of Mars� on their son. Now who is going to beleive in these rumors? Are such story really true or not, only time will tell. 	The Indian Idol Finals and The Winner Is? Date: 04/23/2006 Guest Stars: Kajol The Indian Idol 2 Finals. The 2 finalists went head to head till the end. This episode included the return of all the Indian Idol contents and they all performed a couple of songs for the audience. After a long wait the winner was announced. Sandeep Acharya was crowed Indian Idol 2 by the public beating out the heavliy favoured NC Karunya . NC Karunya went through the whole contest with the best complements and was heavliy to win, but it was Sandeep Acharya that got the most votes and won the title of Indian Idol 2. Abhijeet Sawant also made an apperaence and sang a song and then later presented the Indian Idol crown to the winner, Sandeep Acharya. We feel that Karunya should have been given he has better signing talnet, but this just goes to show you how many people you know and how many votes they give. Everyone could have been feeling that Karunya was getting so many good comments from the judeges that no one vote for Sandeep and hence could have giving him votes? Let's hope this was not the case.
	Aishwarya Rai Hurt On Set Of Mani Ratnam�s Guru Date: 04/21/2006 Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai got some minor bruises on her hand while shooting for Mani Ratnam�s Guru in Bagalkot, North Karnataka with Abhishek Bachchan . It was reported that she fell of a bicycle while shooting the scene and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment and released with her right hand bandaged an hour later with direction to rest of a day. The film is set against the backdrop of the first war of Indian independence (1857), with a song and dance sequence and wedding scenes at cave temples Badami and Halakatti bungalow.

	Aishwarya Rai to work with Will Smith Date: 04/17/2006 Aishwarya Rai seems to have agreed to work with Hollywood actor Will Smith for an upcoming movie later this year. Will Smith visited in India in February where he met a lot of Bollywood actors, and met Aish for about an hour and hit it off well. Aishwarya Rai also sent a sari as a gift for Will Smith's wife Jada Pinkett. Previously Ash was to star opposite Will Smith last year in the comedy Hitch but things did not work out.

Date: 04/18/2006 The new Vishal Bharadwaj direction of the Shakespeare masterpiece Othello , is considering a new name, Issak vs the current title of Omkara. The film, staring Ajay Devgan , Saif Ali Khan , Vivek Oberoi , was also announced to be premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May this year even thou the film is not even complete. The current plans are to release the film in August following the release of Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (KANK) .
	Salman Khan Out On Bail But Rockstars Concert Postponed Date: 04/17/2006 Salman Khan is out on bail after spending 3 days in a jail in Jodhpur and is currently waiting for his travel permit and hence the organizer have postponed the Rockstar Concert 2006 from starting in Calgary on April 21 to start the third week of May and go on till June. The Rockstar Concert 2006 includes such others stars like John Abraham , Shahid Kapoor , Zayed Khan , Kareena Kapoor , Mallika Sherawat , and Esha Deol .

	Salman Khan Sentenced To Imprisonment Date: 04/10/2006 In connection with the 1998 black buck killing case, Salman Khan sentenced to five years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25000 by the local court. Salman has been taken into custody and will be sent to the Central Jail in Jodhpur. Others involved in the case have been acquitted, Saif Ali Khan , Neelam , Tabu and Sonali Bendre . The sideeffect of Salman's legal trouble could tie up more then Rupees 75 Crore for the Bollywood film industry since Salman is currently shooting for the following movies: Babul , Janeman (Jaaneman) , Salaam-e-Ishq , and Marigold An Adventure in India , which is an international venture.

Last year actresses Aishwarya Rai and Mallika Sherawat were at the Cannes Film Festival. RGV announced Nishabd , staring Amitabh Bachchan and the story is about a 54-year old married man who falls in love with a girl, 36 years younger. The film is scheduled to start production May 1, 2006. The film is based on Vladimir Nakobov�s timeless novel Lolita.
	Release of Aryan Delayed Date: 04/05/2006 Movie release of Aryan , The Unbreakable, has been delayed until the end of April. West Indies was dramatic one-run victory over India in the 2nd ODI. The Wesh Indies team set a small total of 199 for India to win. India needed only 11 runs in the final over to win with Yuvraj Singh and Munaf Patel at the wicket. Munaf got the single to let Yuvray face the rest of the balls from which he hit quickly hit 2 fours but then was bowl with just 1 running remaining to tie the match.

Microsoft will launch Xbox 360 gaming console in India. The release is scheduled before the Indian festival of lights, or Diwali , which is on Oct. 21, this year. Microsoft's Xbox 360 console will be offered at 19,990 rupees ($439). Microsoft hopes to set up 1,200 retail outlets in India's main cities of New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and the tech-hubs of Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad.
