	Deepika Padukone And Akshay Kumar In Made In China Date: 09/05/2007: Akshay Kumar and . Deepika Padukone will be seen together in a new Bollywood movie named Made in China (2009) . The film is being directed by Nikhil Advani and is an action packed film to be shot in China starting in early 2008. During the shooting the film stars will stay in Shanghai and Beijing.
	Salman Khan Sentenced To 5 years Imprisonment Date: 08/24/2007: Salman Khan has been sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment by the Session�s Court in Jodhpur for his role in the Chinkara poaching case of which he was convicted on April 10, 2006. The case involves hunting of two black bucks back in September 28, 1998 while he was shooting for Hum Saath Saath Hain.
	Celina Jaitley Featured On Maxim India August 2007 Date: 08/20/2007: Celina Jaitley was again featured on the cover of August 2007 issues of magazine Maxim India. She was previously on the cover back in 2006. This time she in on the cover because of her love for animals and to support PETA India with their campaign 'Sexy for a Cause'. Mumbai recently banned captive elephants within the city limits after pressure from PETA India which has backing of many Bollywood celebrites and politician.
	Bollywood Stars In New York Date: 08/20/2007: This past weekend Amitabh Bachchan was present at the Lincoln Center to recites poem's written by his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai were also present at the event. The following day, Indian's had organized a parade to celebrate India's 60th independence anniversary. Priyanka Chopra was the grand marshal for the parade. Astronaut Sunita Williams, comedian Johnny Lever were also present at the parade that was organized by Federation of Indian Associations (FIA). The parade was held along Madison Avenue from 41st Street to 23th Street in Manhattan.

	Bollywood Stars Win Rajiv Gandhi Award Date: 08/13/2007: Bollywood star Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty won the Rajiv Gandhi award along with journalist Shekhar Gupta and Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams. The awards were presented by Sushilkumar Shinde and Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh. Others winners include Veerendra Heggade, D Y Patil, Swati Piramal, Sir Gulam Noon, Khushagra Bajaj, Tulsi Tanti, and Pooja Bhangira.
	Aishwarya Rai Wax Statue In New York Date: 08/08/2007: Aishwarya Rai's wax statue will be added to the Madame Tussauds museum at Times Square, New York on August 15 which is the day India will celebrate it's 60th year of independence. The statue is borrowed from the London museum, which also has other was models of Bollywood star like Amitabh Bachchan , Shahrukh Khan (SRK) and Tamil superstar Rajnikanth. The Madame Tussauds museum has locations in London, Amsterdam, Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Shanghai and are soon opening one in Washington, DC.
	Mallika Sherawat In Remake of Qurbani Date: 08/08/2007: Mallika Sherawat will be playing the role played by Zeenat Aman in the remake of Feroz Khan�s Qurbani (2007) . Dubai World, investment holding firm of the Dubai government, announced that it has agreed to invest up to $5.2 billion in MGM Mirage. The deal will involve Dubai World purchasing 9.5 percent stake in MGM for about $2.4 billion and will invest about $2.7 billion, a 50 percent stake in MGM's CityCenter project. Which is a 76-acre Las Vegas development project that includes hotels, condos and retail outlets and s due to open in 2009.

Hurricane Dean is heading towards Tulum, Mexico which has forced many tourists to flee the vacation location and beaches of the Mayan Riviera. Petroleos de Mexico, a Mexico's state oil company, will be evacuating more then 14,000 offshore workers. Cancun's international airport was busy with many tourists waiting to get flights to head out.

Wipro, an India-based software company, has expanded it's wings through a $600 million acquisition of Infocrossing, United States based infrastructure management services provider based in Leonia, N.J. This will give Wipro presence in the US to allow it to meet customers needs for data center that must be located within US. The acquisition is one of the largest by an Indian IT company in the USA.

Indian hockey players to go on hunger strike after the announcement that the Indian Team Cricket players will receive cash awards from central and four state governments of Maharashtra, Haryana, Jharkhand and Karnataka for winning the Twenty20 World Cup. Their contention is that why was not a similar genture announced when the hockey team won the Asian Continental Championship early this month without lossing a match.
The other question here would be that, who's money is being used to pay the players who are already paid well by the cricket board? I just hope that this money is not the tax payers and could be better used somewhere less.

Sania Mirza defeated Laura Granville 6-3, 7-5 in the 2nd round at the US open to advance. Sania will now face sixth seeded Russian Anna Chakvetadze. Anna has defeated Sania 3 times already this year at the Hobart semi-final, Cincinnati semi-final and final at Stanford respectivily and has already won four tournaments this year. This will be a good test for Sania.

Sania Mirza won her first round match against Estonian Kaia Kanepi 6-2, 6-7 (5/7), 6-1 to advance to the second round at the US Open tennis championships being played in Flushing Meadows, New York. Sania will face 60th ranked American Laura Granville in the second round. Sania had her best Grand Slam showing back in 2006 US Open where she advanced to round of 16 and was defeated by Maria Sharapova of Russia.

Sania Mirza won againt Alberta Branti in the first round of the French Open, being played at Roland Garros, Paris, to advance to the second round. This is mark a great vicitory for Sania since being upset in her previous two apperances at the Morocco Open and Istanbul Cup. Hyderabadi girl beat out Alberta Brianti of Italy in just under an hour at the score of 6-1, 6-1. Now Sania will take on seventh seed Ana Ivanovic in the second round.
The second-ranked Russian, Maria Sharapova , beat out Emilie Loit of France 6-3, 7-6 (4) to advance to the second round at the French Open.

Sania Mirza world rank improved to 50th after her play at the Morocco Open and Istanbul Cup. She did not do well in the singles competition but won the doubles title at Morocco Open and reached the doubles final at the Istanbul Cup. Sania is next due to play Italian Alberta Brianti in the French Open and will be partnered with Eva Birnerova of Czech Republic for the doubles matches.

Sania Mirza and her doubles partner Y-J Chan were upset in the finals by the Polish pair in the Istanbul Cup women's tennis tournament in Turkey. Sania Mirza and her first time partner Yung-Jan Chan of Taiwan were beaten by Agnieszka Radwanska and Urszula Radwanska. Sania had previsoly won the doubles crown at Morocco Open.

Sania Mirza and her doubles partner Y-J Chan were able to move into the final round of the doubles at the Istanbul Cup. She has eariler won the doubles title at the Morocco Open. They beat Kloesel-Koumantou in the Quarterfinals to enter the final round.

Sania Mirza is having some difficulty upon her return from knee injury. She was knocked out by Meghann Shaughnessy from the $200,000 Istanbul Cup tennis tournament during the 1st round. She also lost in the 1st round in the Morocco Open, but did win the doubles crown at the Morocco Open.

Top seeded Sania Mirza did not have a great return. She was defected by Maria Emilia Salerni in the first round of the Morocco Open. Sania was playing after two months of being away from tennis due to her injury. Sania did advance into the second round with her doubles teamat Vania King.

Sania Mirza is seeded number one in a WTA event making her the first Indian tennis star to have such a seeding. She has been out with a knee injury, which she suffered a ligament injury while playing in the Qatar Open in Doha back in , in February 2007. She is making a comeback at the Morroco Open. She has teamed up with American Vania King for the doubles competition. Her next stop will be playing in Istanbul, followed by Birmingham, and Holland to get her prepared for Wimbledon.
Neha Uberoi is another Indian who is taking part in the open and will play with Italian Silvia Disderi in the doubles competition.

Sania Mirza unveils a giant hoarding of Sprite, brand of Coca Cola at Park Street Rawdon Street crossing in central Kolkata to launch the soft drink. Sania will next been seen playing in the German Open in Berlin, Germany. She has been sidelined with a knee injury but hopes to recover and play in the German Open which is scheduled to start May 7, 2007.

India wins a thrilling match to knock the home team South Africa out of the Twenty20 tournment. India won the toss and elected to bat, India's starting was not good with 61 for four in the 11th over, but with help from Rohit Sharma (50 not out, 40 balls, seven fours, two sixes) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni's (45, 33 balls, four four, one six) lead India to a defended total of 153 for five in 20 overs. Now it was up to the Indian bowler to show there stuff and they did. RP Singh led the way with terrific fielding and even more terrific bowling. He finished with four for 13 in four overs, while Sreesanth and Harbhajan Singh grabbed two wickets each. South Africa never had a chance with lossing early wickets and never able to get things under control. Now India will face Australia on Sep 22.

India Win In Thrilling Fashion At The Oval

Sachin Tendulkar , Saurav Ganguly , and Robin Uthappa lead India to a thriling victory over England in the 6th ODI played at the Oval. England batted first and set a big total of 317 runs for India to chase. India came out hitting with Sachin and Saurav partnering for 150 runs for the opening stand. They both was dismissed within a short time there after the run rate climbed. Sachin again was left short by 6 runs to get yet another century. The middle order played well but quick outs left the total out of sight. Dhoni and Uthappa played well and until Dhoni was dismissed with 2 overs left and Uthappa made some great stoke to get India the win with 2 balls to spare.
