| | Slumdog Millionaire Get 4 Golden Globes Nominations Date: 12/13/2008: After winning Best Film, Best Director, and the Most Promising Newcomer for 18 year old actor Dev Patel awards at the British Independent Film Awards, the film Slumdog Millionaire (2008) has now been nominated for four Golden Globes. The nominations are for the film iteself for Best Motion Picture Drama, for Best Director for Danny Boyle, Best Original Score for AR Rahman and Best Screenplay for writer Simon Beaufoy. The awards will be announced on January 11 in Los Angeles. The film stars Dev Patel and Freida Pinto and is directed by Danny Boyle. The movie was released only on 49 locations within North American, but will should now be opening in more theatres nationwide. | | Jennifer Aniston On January's Cover of GQ Date: 12/10/2008: Jennifer Aniston has come a long way from starring on the TV series Friends. Jennifer will next be seen in her upcoming movie Marley and Me, releasing this month and then in He's Just Not That Into You, expected to release around Valentine's Day 2009. | | Parvathy Omanakuttan To Compete In Miss World 2008 Date: 12/10/2008: Parvathy Omanakuttan will be representing India at the Miss World 2008 pageant on December 13, 2008. The Miss World 2008 pageant is being held at the Sandton Convention Center in Johannesburg, South Africa, which was originally scheduled to take place at Kiev, Ukraine, but because of the ongoing crisis between Georgia and Russia in neighboring South Ossetia, the pageant was moved from Eastern Europe by the Miss World Organization. Parvathy is 21 years old from Changanassery, Kottayam, Kerala. Parvathy is the reigning Miss India World 2008 and on 5 April 2008 was crowned "Pantaloons Femina Miss India World 2008". She has already been the Femina Miss India South 2008 and Miss Malayali 2005. If Parvathy wins, she will joins the likes of Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999) and Priyanka Chopra (2000) who have brought the crown to India. | | Slumdog Millionaire Passes Jodhaa Akbar Date: 12/08/2008: After winning Best Film, Best Director, and the Most Promising Newcomer for 18 year old actor Dev Patel awards at the British Independent Film Awards, the film Slumdog Millionaire (2008) has collected more then $3.8 million at the North American box office, surpassing Jodha Akbar, Jodhaa Akbar (2008) starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan which has collected $3.4 million and hence making it the highest grossing Indian movie of 2008. The film stars Dev Patel and Freida Pinto and is directed by Danny Boyle.
