	Shilpa Shetty Could Host Season 2 Of Big Boss Date: 07/28/2008: Shilpa Shetty the winner of the Big Brother UK, may be offered to host the next season of Bigg Boss 2 in India. Bigg Boss was last year hosted by Arshad Warsi. If Shilpa chooses to host the show, she could be paid more then Rs 8 Crores. Bigg Boss (India) will start after Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi, , hosted by Akshay Kumar , ends in August 2008. The new season of Bigg Boss will air on newly launched channel, Colors.
	Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Stays In Toronto Date: 07/25/2008: During the recent The Unforgettable Tour in Toronto, it was confirmed that the Bollywood star couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan stayed at the Federer Suite in Hilton Toronto from July 16 to July 19. Tennis star Roger Federer had arrived in Toronto for the Rogers Cup and upon his checkin to the Hilton, was denied his favourite suite since it was already allocated to the Bachchans and hence Roger Federer had to spend a night in another suite in the hotel.

Then earlier this year Tamil superstar Kamal Hassan played 10 different roles in Dasavatharam (2008) and now Rahul Bose will play will play six different characters in a forthcoming film, Maan Gaye Mughal E Azam (2008) , directed by Sanjay Chhel. The roles will include a daredevil officer of the intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), an underworld gangster, a Hyderabadi Nawab, Mughal prince Jehangir, dumb deputy of an underworld don and his bodyguard. Tyson Foods Inc, based in Chicago, USA, announced that it has purchased a 51 percent stake in a poultry processor in India, Godrej Foods Ltd. The new company will be known as Godrej Tyson Foods and will have annual sales of around $50 million. Godrej has chicken processing plants in Bangalore and Mumbai.

06/03/2008:
The Maharashtra Government today approved plans to build a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj some one kilometer into the Arabian Sea with the height of 300 feet. The statue will be off the coast of Mumbai , and will about 30 storey high and almost two kilometers into the sea, and the statue will be taller then the Statue of Liberty in New York, USA.

Indian tourist city Jaipur, India was rocked today by Seven synchronised blasts that killed at least 60 people and injuring nearly 100 others, but that will probably rise with time and investigation. The multiple blast went off in a choreographed manner within about 20 minutes. The locations that are initially identified are Tripolia Bazar, Badi Choupal, Chhoti Choupal, Manas Chowk, Johari Bazar and Sanganeri Gate.

05/07/2008:
Today, India successfully test fired a surface to surface nuclear capable Agni-III missile with a range of 3000 km range. The missile was launced from Wheelers Island off Orissa coast and it achieved its full range and accuracy by reaching its pre designated target in 800 seconds. India now joins a select group of nations having intermediate range ballistic missiles (IRBMs) with ranges upto 3000 kms.

Vivienne is the French version of the ancient Latin name that means alive. The twins, the mother and proud papa, Brad Pitt, are in good health and all are doing fine. An Abu Dhabi Investment Council, based in Abu Dhabi has bought the Chrysler Building, New York's best known skyscrapers, for 800 million dollars. The 77 story Art Deco skyscraper is located in Midtown Manhattan opposite Grand Central station. The The Chrysler Building was designed by the architect William Van Alen and built between 1928 and 1930. The building was declared a historic monument in 1976 and was built for the Chrysler car company. The fund has over 800 billion dollars of assets and has also recently made a 7.5 billion dollar investment in Citigroup. Many Middle East nations have great access to capital from their oil profit and hence are looking for real estate assets overseas. Just last month, General Motors building located on Fifth Avenue was bought by Investors from Dubai , Kuwait and Qatar for 2.8 billion dollars.

World under rice shortage? The price for rice seems to be going up daily and now there are countries putting limits on exports and also local stores in the US putting limits on how much can be bought by an individual. As the world population and consumers of rice grows, the supply seems not to be keeping up with the rise in demand. Price of rice have gone up by more then 30 percent in the two years from 2005 to 2007. Of the world rice 80 percent is grown in Asia. Major exporters of rice are India, Pakistan, Thailand, Vietnam, and United States. Rice is being imported by Bangladesh, Brazil, Indonesia, Iraq, Philippines, and the Arab world.

Today marked a big day for the airline industry where much anticipated merger between Delta Air Lines Inc. and Northwest Airlines Corp. was finalized. The deal is around $17.7 billion and would create the world's largest airline. The new airline will have some $35 billion in revenue and more then 75,000 employees, with access to more than 390 destinations in 67 countries. Delta will have their executive offices in Atlanta, Minneapolis and New York, with international executive offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Tokyo.

World No 32 Sania Mirza has decided not to take part in the upcoming French Open starting on May 25, 2008 due to her right wrist injury. Sania had undergone surgery in Miami, FL on April 10, and the cast was removed on May 05 and how she is undergoing physical rehabilitation. Sania hopes to be ready by June to take part in the DFS Classic in Birmingham which start June 6, 2008.

06/18/2008: On Monday 16 June, Tiger Woods won the US Open victory at Torrey Pines Golf Club in South, La Jolla, CA, while nursing a knee injury. The conclusion provided a very climatic ending with Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate in a head on playoff after the tie during the regular match. Now two days later, Tiger has announced that he will undergo reconstructive surgery to the anterior cruciate ligament on his left knee, this will require rehabilitation on a double stress fracture of his left tibia and hence Tiger will miss the 2008 seasons. 06/18/2008: The Boston Celtics won the Basketball News NBA Championship Title by crushing the Los Angeles Lakers 131 to 92 in the 6th game of the final. The Celtics played well all around with their key players playing their best game with Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen ledding the way with 26 points each, and Rajon Rondo with 21 points, while Paul Pierce only had 17 points but made up with 10 assists. The win marks Boston's 17th NBA Championship, the last one over 22 years ago. Only last year, Boston finished with league's worst records with just 24 wins, marking a great turned around by the team and their coach, Doc Rivers. On the other hands the Lakers seemed to have been jetlagged by their trip from the west coast. Kobe Bryant started well with 3 three pointer in the first couple of minutes, but then was kept quite for the rest of the game with no major impacts. He could not break thru the Boston's defenese.
04/17/2008: The first match of the much awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) will be held in Banglaore in this weekend. The matches will follow Twenty20 format of cricket. The opening match will be between Bangalore Royal Challengers and Kolkata (Calcutta) Knight Riders at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium April 18, 2008.
04/11/2008: India started off to a good start in the 3rd test match being played at Kanpur, India. India's spinner Harbhajan Singh grabbed three wickets, while teenaged paceman Ishant Sharma also took three wickets to bowl out South Africa for 265 on the first day of the test match. India's captin Anil Kumble was ruled out due to injury, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni became the first Indian 'keeper to lead in tests'. South Africa skipper Graeme Smith scored with 69. The wicket is making it harder for the batsmen to handle the spin and will test the Indian team.

The 2008 Summer Olympics have been in recent news with nations calling for boycotts due to some people being upset with China's involvement in the crisis in Darfur. Other concern related to environmental and health issues in and around Beijing have been raised due to the concern that it may potentially effect athletes health.
