Tyson Foods Inc, based in Chicago, USA, announced that it has purchased a
51 percent stake in a poultry processor in India, Godrej Foods Ltd. The new
company will be known as Godrej Tyson Foods and will have annual sales of around

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj some one kilometer into the Arabian Sea with

Indian tourist city Jaipur, India was rocked today by Seven synchronised blasts
that killed at least 60 people and injuring nearly 100 others, but that will probably
rise with time and investigation. The multiple blast went off in a choreographed manner

Today, India successfully test fired a surface to surface nuclear capable Agni-III missile
with a range of 3000 km range. The missile was launced from Wheelers Island off Orissa coast
and it achieved its full range and accuracy by reaching its pre designated target in 800 seconds.
India now joins a select group of nations having intermediate range ballistic missiles (IRBMs)
with ranges upto 3000 kms.

has bought the Chrysler Building, New York's
best known skyscrapers, for 800 million dollars. The 77 story Art Deco skyscraper

designed by the architect William Van Alen and built between 1928 and 1930.
The building was declared a historic monument in 1976 and was built for
the Chrysler car company. The fund has over 800 billion dollars of assets

there are countries putting limits on exports and also local stores in the US putting
limits on how much can be bought by an individual. As the world population and consumers
of rice grows, the supply seems not to be keeping up with the rise in demand. Price of
rice have gone up by more then 30 percent in the two years from 2005 to 2007. Of the
world rice 80 percent is grown in Asia. Major exporters of rice are India, Pakistan, Thailand,
Vietnam, and United States. Rice is being imported by Bangladesh, Brazil, Indonesia,
Iraq, Philippines, and the Arab world.

Today marked a big day for the airline industry where much anticipated merger
between Delta Air Lines Inc. and Northwest Airlines Corp. was finalized. The deal
is around $17.7 billion and would create the world's largest airline. The new
airline will have some $35 billion in revenue and more then 75,000 employees,
with access to more than 390 destinations in 67 countries. Delta will have
their executive offices in Atlanta, Minneapolis and New York, with

Tiger Woods
won the US Open victory at Torrey Pines Golf Club in South, La Jolla, CA,
while nursing a knee injury. The conclusion provided a very climatic ending with
Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate in a head on playoff after the tie during the
regular match. Now two days later, Tiger has announced that he will
undergo reconstructive surgery to the anterior cruciate ligament on his left knee,
this will require rehabilitation on a double stress fracture of his left tibia
and hence Tiger will miss the 2008 seasons. This will include such matches like
September's Ryder Cup, Open Championship at Birkdale and PGA Championship in Michigan in August.

NBA Championship Title by crushing the
Los Angeles Lakers 131 to 92 in the 6th game of the final. The Celtics
played well all around with their key players playing their best game with

only had 17 points but made up with 10 assists. The win marks Boston's 17th NBA Championship,
the last one over 22 years ago. Only last year, Boston finished with
