Aishwarya Rai Bachchan , Sonam Kapoor , and Kareena Kapoor . are going to be performing on stage at the IIFA Awards in Macau on June 11, 2009. The IIFA awards will be hosted by Riteish Deshmukh , Lara Dutta and Boman Irani.
Neetu Chandra Neetu Chandra and Krishikha Gupta Racy Photoshoot Controversy

A photoshoot for The Man June 2009 magazine outside a hotel lobby in the western Mumbai suburb of Juhu between Indian actress Neetu Chandra and model Krishikha Gupta got out of hand, when the hotel's customers objected to the photoshoot. The argument started to get ugly when the group started to chant 'Jai Maharashtra'. The group claimed to have connections Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).
Do you think such a big deal should have been made about the photoshoot or is this just another publicility stunt to get more reader to the magazine?
Salman Khan Dus Ka Dum Is Back For Season Two

The hit TV game show of 2008, Dus Ka Dum, host by Salman Khan is back for it's second season. Sony has also signed up guest celebrity Mallika Sherawat for s 50 lakh to appear on the show, which will be shot on May 24. On the show Mallika will most likly promote her next film, Hissss (Naagin The Snake Woman) (2009) directed by Jennifer Lynch, in which she play role of a vengeful snake woman. The movie is being backed by Endeavor Independent, which liked the promos of the film at a Special preview in Los Angeles. Endeavor Independent was also behind the worldwide distribution of Oscar winning movie, Slumdog Millionaire (Crorepati) (2008) .

A couple of big Indian films are going to be showcased at the Cannes International Film Festival 2009 this weeks. Films like Teen Patti (2009) starring Amitabh Bachchan along with Richard Gere, R. Madhavan , Ajay Devgan , Irfan Khan , Siddharth Kher, Mahesh Manjrekar, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Danny Denzongpa, Ben Kingsley, Sushmita Sen . Kites (2009) starring Hrithik Roshan , Kangna Ranaut , and Mexican actress Barbara Mori will also be showcased.

AR Rahman Maestro AR Rahman Launches 'Jai Ho' World Tour

In front of more then 50 thousand fans, Maestro AR Rahman launched the "Jai Ho' tour at the Corporation Stadium, Kozhikkod. The Oscar winning music director performed for nearly four hours with the fans cheering the group at every break. AR Rahman made a great entry onto the stage, singing “O Saya” his Oscar nominated song. His team of singers includes Malayali singer Chithra, Hariharan, Sayanora, George Peter and Benny Dayal, Sadhna Sargam, Rashid Ali, Javed Ali, Muhammed Aslam, and Raja Hassan. The show is the first of the 39 live shows to be conducted by the AR Rahman all over the world during the next five years.

On May 11, Nick India, started airing a new TV series based on Little Krishna. The 13 episode series, dubbed in Hindi and English, is India's first 3D animated TV series developed at the cost of 50 crore. It was developed by Reliance’s BIG Animation Studio in association with The Indian Heritage Foundation and was scripted by Jeffrey Scott, the man behind the Ice Age and Ninja Turtles television series. Parikshit Dasa of Lion King was in charge of art direction. The series created content that required 30 Terra Bytes of virtual space and was supported by gigabyte network through RX Foundry for smooth work flow process, while Blue Arc was used as the storage system.

On May 25, 2009, NDTV Imagine will telecast a new TV show, Seeta Aur Geeta. The show Seeta Aur Geeta is an adaptation of the 1970's hit movie of the same name starring Hema Malini. The role of Seeta and Geeta will be played by Anjorie Alagh .

The Brazilian supermodel's baby is due in winter 2009. The wedding was held in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in a private civil ceremony on Valentine's Day.

The Indian goverment made many attempts to halt the auction of the memorabilia of Mahatma Gandhi but failed to do so. But no worry, it was Mr Vijay Mallya , Chairman of the United Breweries Group and Kingfisher Airlines who ended up winning the memorabilia for a price tag of $1.8 million (nearly Rs 9.3 crore) at a New York auction. The items won include his round rimmed spectacles, leather sandals, 1910 silver Zenith pocket watch and the brass bowl and plate. Vijay Mallya plans to donate the items to be placed in a museum. Vijay Mallya firm UB Group owns the Royal Challengers Bangalore team in the Indian Premier League.

Palm, Inc., smartphone manufacturer, will offer a wireless cellphone charging pad, called the Touchstone. The accessory will be for the upcoming Palm Pre. The technology uses electromagnetic induction to supply the Pre’s battery with energy and was first announced by Palm at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January.

Research In Motion (RIM), maker of the popular BlackBerry has nannounced a strategic tie up with Hewlett Packard (HP). HP will provide "a portfolio of solution" to businesses on its smartphones. Hewlett Packard will unveil HP CloudPrint which will enable BlackBerry users to print emails, photos, web pages and other documents from their smartphones to the nearest printer; at home, in the office or on the road.

The high priced golden culinary herb saffron, made from crocus flowers, and used in cooking, may hold one of the keys to preventing the loss of sight in old age and could even help improve vision in people suffering from certain blinding eye diseases. A team found that saffron slows the loss of sight becuase the herb has remarkable effects on the genes which actually regulate the performance of the eye's key vision cells.

Sania Mirza Sania Mirza knocked out of French Open singles

Sania Mirza was knocked out of the singles match at the French Open by Kazakhstan's Galina Voskoboeva in Roland Garros, score of 4-6 6-7 (3). Sania and her doubles patner Chia-Jung Chuang from Taipei, were able to defeat Ipek Senoglu and Yanina Wickmayer in straight sets to continue to the next round.
On a personel note, Sania will be engaged on July 10 to her classmate from her school days, Hyderabad based businessman, Mr. Muhammad Sohrab Mirza. With wedding date to be formalised later. Also, it is not clear whether Sania will continue playing tennis after marriage or not. Sania Mirza is the first Indian Woman to win a WTA Singles Title and break into the world's top 50. She won a Grand Slam Title this year, when she won the Australian Open Mixed Doubles Titles, with her partner Mahesh Bhupathi.
